English Grammar Reference: Verbs of Feeling

  love hate

adore
like
don't mind dislike (don't like)
detest / loathe

When we use a verb after a verb of feeling, the gerund is always correct:

I like eating pizza.

He loves playing playing baseball.

They hate working on Sundays.

We don't mind helping them.

She enjoys going to the cinema.

She adores shopping.

With love, like and hate we can also use the infinitive:

They love to dance.

I like to go out at the weekend.

We hate to stay in.
